Spurs 120, Thunder 111

THE FACTS: Tony Parker scored 34 points on 16-of-21 shooting, leading the Spurs to a 120-111 victory over Oklahoma City on Tuesday at AT&T Center and a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals.

Tim Duncan scored only 11 points after going 2-of-11, but Manu Ginobili had another effective performance off the bench (20 points in 25 minutes).

Oklahoma City got what it needed from its big three: 31 points from Kevin Durant, 30 points from James Harden on identical 10-of-13 shooting from the floor and foul line, and 27 points, eight assists and no turnovers from Russell Westbrook. Yet as hard as they played, the Thunder never led.

It\'s the Spurs\' 20th straight win. They are the fourth team in NBA history to win at least 20 in a row and the only team to have its winning streak extend into the playoffs.

QUOTABLE: \"It was one of those nights. I felt in a good rhythm early on. I was making my outside shots and just trying to be aggressive. The first game (in this series) I was a little too much in a hurry. Tonight I took my time, especially on the pick-and-rolls when they doubled me.\"
-- Parker

THE STAT: The Thunder outscored San Antonio from the 3-point line 27-24 in Game 1, but the Spurs turned that around to 33-24 in Game 2, hitting 11-of-26 (42 percent).

TURNING POINT: The Spurs shot 58 percent in the first half and limited OKC to 36 percent, but the Thunder trailed by nine less than a minute into the second half. The Spurs spent the next six and a half minutes hitting 9-of-11 shots including all five of their 3-point tries to go up by 22, their largest lead of the game. OKC made a steady rally, cutting it to six with just less than six minutes to go and then seven under two minutes, but the Spurs\' surge in the third quarter gave them enough to hang on.

QUOTABLE II: \"I think they hit a lot of tough shots, contested twos over the top of us. We\'ve just got to stick to our game plan. We stopped the rolls to the basket. But we\'re upset about that loss.\"
-- Durant

HOT: Parker has not shot 50 percent or better since Game 3 against Utah in the first round. His 34 points fell short of his career playoff high of 43 points in 2009 against Dallas, but it topped the 27 points he had from Game 3 at Utah for his best this postseason.

NOT: Derek Fisher had a total turnabout from Game 1, when he hit his first six shots. Combined with missing his last two from Game 1 with tonight, Fisher suffered through a streak of 1-of-12 from the floor. Overall, he was 2-of-11.

GOOD MOVE: Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks might not have made all the right moves (see below) but he pulled the right string in the second half. He made sure shot-blocker Serge Ibaka was on the floor for the fourth quarter, even though a smaller, faster lineup looked to be needed when the Thunder were trailing by double digits. It was a reaction to Game 1 when Ibaka was on the bench for all the fourth quarter while the Spurs outscored OKC 16-2 in the paint and rallied from nine down. With Westbrook funneling Parker toward Ibaka, the Thunder cut the deficit from 18 points in the final minute of the third quarter to six with 5:40 to go.

BAD MOVE: Brooks said before the game that he never had a team intentionally hack an opponent to get a bad foul shooter to the free-throw line. There\'s a first time for everything. It might have looked like pure desperation when he did it in the third quarter tonight of Game 2. With 2:42 to go in the third quarter and with three team fouls, Brooks had his team started fouling as soon as the ball was tossed in. Once arriving at the bonus, they went after Tiago Splitter. He was fouled five times and was forced to shoot 10 free throws. He hit five before Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who had a whole smorgasbord of Clippers players to foul against L.A. in the Western Conference semis, sent Duncan in for Splitter. Duncan was hacked and hit 2-of-4. The Thunder trailed by 14 when they started hacking and were down by 16 at the end of the third. Statistically it did not look good, but it may have given the Thunder a breather.
